PELLU Batch Treatment Process
for Heavy Metal Removal from Wastewater

The PELLU process of heavy metal removal from wastewater can be a batch treatment process or a continuous treatment process. Typical applications for the PELLU batch treatment are sporadic, low volume generators with very high level metal concentrations. Laboratory and/or pilot studies will establish the required combination and dosing of PELLU chemicals.

Typical PELLU Batch Treatment System

  • Capacity:  1,000-gallon tank equipped with a high speed mixer.

  • Control hardware:  Fully automated with level sensors in treatment tank.

  • Process control:  At a wastewater level setpoint, as detected by level sensors, the PELLU chemicals dosing pumps are turned on until a pH setpoint is achieved in the tank, indicating completion of the reaction. The dosing pumps and the mixer are then turned off. Time is allowed for total liquid/solids separation. The resulting high quality clear water can be reused, be further treated, or dumped to the local municipal sewer. The sludge is pumped either to a sludge holding tank or to a filter press.

  • Throughput time: Very fast.
